I’d been in the audience of The Monti, a live storytelling performance, many times before and always left promising myself that one day I’d muster up the guts to actually do it. On October 16th, I finally did – at UNC’s Forest Theater and before an audience of more than 400.

The Monti is modeled after The Moth. As such, storytellers must follow three rules: first, the story has to be 100% true. Second, it must be 12 minutes long. And third, the storyteller is not allowed to use any notes.

Here’s the link to a podcast of my story (episode #177). Big thanks and love to Jeff Polich who helped me put together and refine my story – for helping me get at what I really was trying to say.

Additionally, below are a few photos that relate to the story. Enjoy!
